Triple NBA MVP Jokic suffered a "devastating" injury to his knee as the Denver Nuggets lost by a score of 147-123 at the Miami Heat.
The star player sustained the injury towards the end of the second quarter in an unintentional collision with teammate Jones.
His teammate landed on the foot of the MVP, and he promptly went down to the floor clutching his leg.
The star, that leads the league this season in rebounds and dimes, posted 21 points and eight assists in the matchup before sustaining the injury.
Jokic will undergo an scan on Tuesday to evaluate the extent of the injury.
"Instantly, he realized he was hurt," commented Denver head coach David Adelman.
"Injuries are part of the game. Anyone who gets hurt, that's tough to see, most notably a player as important as he is. We will know more on Tuesday."
"We'll move on as a team. Of course, at this moment, I am more concerned just about him as a person and the letdown of experiencing an event like that."
