Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
